Went to website and read some comments. It advertises that the roads used are very heavily trafficked. I am just wondering if anyone has done this event and how safe it really is.

I grew up in the outer banks and live near still, those roads, especially down towards Hatteras are not too much shoulder, and if you go off the shoulder you are in a foot of sand. Those roads are heavily trafficked with tourists, especially on Saturday and Sunday which are the rental turnover days. I was considering the ride myself, but after I read the logistics and that there was no special controls on the route as far as traffic goes, I decided to not do it. Bums me out honestly, finally a ride on my home turf and I just don't think it would be enjoyable.

I hate to hear that - I was seriously considering the ride. Hoping we could round up a few V20‘s to blitz a course.
