Need help swapping out suspended fork...

Hi folks, I am in the process of putting in an unsuspended fork on my v2 559 Quest. The lower bearing seat on the suspended fork is non existent on the new one (see pic). There is no obvious way of swapping the seat over...any ideas?

You can remove the crown race on the old fork by using a knife blade to ply around the edge. For the new fork, I would suggest that you buy new headset, those with cartridge bearings (can be had for less than $10). The new crown race is not a complete circle and has a break; it is much easier to install.

Thanks for that, I will leave the existing one alone and do some shopping. I haven’t swapped out a crown race before and thought I should proceed with caution!

Where do get just a fork replacement? I would love a rigid fork to replace the old one on my Sofrider!
