I'm just after some clarification here; just what is meant by "bloodied on BROL"? I'm probably not quite on the same wavelength for this lingo.
It sounds like Cruzbikes could be getting the "rough end of the pineapple" (a raw deal, not a fair hearing).

Back to front.
There was a man who took the engine out of the front and stuck it in the back of an F1 racing car, an Australian, Jack Brabham. Why, faster, safer.
There was an American who took the common hamberger and duplicated the outlets, his name was Ray Crock. Buns are too small it will never work. It became Mc Donalds.
And another who took a crossply tire and turned it into a radial ply tire. The walls are too soft it wont take on ! And then they advertised steel belted radials.
Who knows what a reel lawn mower is? For common use now its a rotary mower. ( oh but it will damage the grass, yeah right.)
In the mid 1980 the price of gas shot up dramatically, carburaters were cheaper to produce than fuel injectors but fuel injectors were more efficient.
If the light works turn it on. If you are still in the dark ? open your eyes ! if you still dont see it, ask someone who does, not the one with the opinion.

For those reading the thread now, I'll point out it started 3 years ago. I wasn't reading the BROL back then, but I've read a lot of old threads and wouldn't disagree that many BROL participants had an anti-Cruzbike bent ( "Everybody knows Cruzbikes can't climb") .
I'm very pleased to report that for the most part, this is no longer true. Many of the people there have a (to be a little too blunt) put up or shut up attitude and I think it's quite fair to say that Maria and Jim as well as many others have shown with their many records that there's something to this funny looking bike (my wife's words). (You can read, for example, Peder's thread on his Vendetta).
That's not to say there is anything bad or wrong with Recumbent Riders Social Club. The biggest difference at this point is that BROL is much higher volume which means, in my opinion, you are more likely to find what you are looking for.

- Charles, I don't see the " verybody knows Cruzbikes can't climb" as much lately. Now it's " oh, too bad the learning curve is too steep" .
As if I, being acustomed to MBB wouldn't have a learning curve to mount a lwb sling seat, or swb uss and try to climb one of my local Vermont hills! Or for that matter match the speed of the silvio on the flats!
One can only get out of the sport what one is willing to invest in the sport.

I don't disagree that there are some with that attitude (although I find the tone much better now than before). I continually point out that I was up and riding within 30 minutes (although I'm willing to believe that I'm not typical as I have experience with such odd vehicles as a unicycle).
But more and more, more people are willing to try. The biggest "problem" is that we just don't have a dense enough Cruzbike population so that we can offer clinics for random people who want to try.
I've ridden in your Vermont hills and riding either of those bikes would likely do very bad things to me there. (I barely survived on the Sofrider)
