I know its not ideal but its what I have for now. The kurt kinetic tightens from both sides so I dont feel like the wide front end is causing an issue. Maybe a direct drive smart trainer is in my future or maybe I should just move someplace where its warm all the time.

I think we may have caught our expert in a Cruzbike newbie explanation. Or more likely I just am misunderstanding.

My Cruzbike QX100 the front fits fine on my Stac Zero (now Wiiii) trainer. It fits the same as a mountain bike rear wheel. You may find it a little more awkward because the front end flops around more than the rear but once you are used to it that actually makes the Cruzbike easier to manoeuvre into the trainer.

I agree with Joel on this one. My Kinetic worked well as a trainer. My reason for going to a wheel-off smart trainer is because I too often allowed the power to drift down and skip planned power surges. Now if I want to ease up I must do so within the Trainer Road app. I get better work-outs now.

BTW, Kinetic sells slotted cones to fit your quick release skewer. I cut mine to fit.

Alternately, use a threaded rod and two skewer nuts.

My V20 and S30 work just fine on my Wahoo Snap wheel-on trainer. They worked equally well on my Kurt Kinetic dumb trainer before that, which I used for years. I would move to a wheel-off trainer if I lived where my bike was going to stay there for months at a stretch. But I don't, so it's wheel-on for me.

Rode my S40 on a Kurt kinetic for 2 winters w no problem. Used an extra long skewer. Will look for the source info in my records. Now have my V20 on an Elite, wheel off trainer.
