New Seat For The V 1.5

Went out to test ride my new balsa/'glass/epoxy composite seat, before the afternoon heat.

First impression:
Really buzzy ride.
So buzzy that I can feel my teeth rattle in their sockets.
Lower than stock, more aero too: Downhill speed and flat speed are improved.
The buzzy ride will be improved on when the cushions go on.

Second impression:
Very firm under the back.
No creaks or squeaks.
Uphill power is at least as good as stock.

Lasting impressions:
Hey, I got the neck rest exactly right!
The water bottle holders are working perfectly for me...
and they clear the frame (the stock locations hit the frame).
Comfortable;
powerful;
stiff;
corrosion proof (the stock seat pan was beginning to corrode).
And, of course, much lighter than stock.

Why did I make this seat?
Why, because I can!
Besides, it's lighter, it fits me perfectly, it fits the frame perfectly and, it will not corrode.

See the missing seat pan bolt head in the middle? It's just above the water bottle bolts.
The frame mounting hole won't accept a bolt: it -the tapped hole- looks squished.
It may have been damaged in shipping at some point in its past life.
I probably won't drill and tap it, but the hole is in the seat pan in case I change my mind.

The V is sitting on the stand I built out of scrap wood.

Installed!
The blond resin matches the Screaming Yellow paint pretty well.
No flange on the edge of the seat ... looks good, feels good, works well and made it easier to build.
The integrated neck rest -nonadjustable- fits me perfectly and the bike bag on the back works well.
I found that the slimmer butt-cheek seat pad works better for me, so that's why it's blue and thin.
Maybe later, I'll try the thinner pad on the seat back... but for now, this is working.
