New Silvio in Grimstad Norway

I have now completed assembling Silvio.

I used a Shimano Tiagra 10 speed group set.

I took a short test ride the speed was faster than my Sofrider.:)

The handling was easy since I have had many kilometers on a Vendetta.

I liked the color, I have a white helmet with built in lights and white shoes.

I also found a pair of white sunglasses!

When I sold my Vendetta the customer had wheels.

I have the Cruzbike wheels and carbon wheels.

I took some more pictures of Silvio.

I took a short test ride with the new Silvio this evening.
I have not had many rides on the Silvio because our weather has been colder than usual.
April 25 we got snow early in the morning. I took our car that day to work. I was stuck in traffic for 45 minutes.
Most of the cars had changed their tires to summer tires.
Now the weather is very nice and will continue being nice and sunny for over a week.

On my Silvio there is a Shimano Tiagra 4700 10 speed group set grey 50/34 170 mm crank arms.
The bottom bracket with this group set fit nicely on the Silvio.
This group set is a cheaper alternative and seems to function nicely.
I am using Cruzbike wheels I also have some carbon wheels.

Selling recumbents here in Grimstad Norway, has become more difficult the last two years because our currency has dropped.
If someone wanted to buy my Silvio I didn’t want it to be too expensive.
If a customer wants a more expensive option, I can mount something else on a new frame.

The price of imported products has gone up for Norwegians.
Some benefit on our low currency. Fish exporters + other exporters are doing well.
We are getting more tourists since it is much cheaper to visit here than it was when our currency was strong.
We have sold one trike so far this season. We have several trikes and different 2 wheel recumbents that customers can test ride here.

It will be nice when Cruzbike gets their trike ready for sale.
I think many people that find two wheel recumbents difficult will like a faster option compared to other traditional trikes.

I mounted a Scarab bag nice for some tools and some clothes.
I took another short test ride; I was able to ride with the chain in the biggest chain wheel on the crank.
There are some hills to climb but not that steep along the coast. The steeper and longer hills are inland.

A man from Sweden contacted me he wanted to come in some weeks and test ride a Silvio.
Cruzbike does well racing and that gets some attention.
MBB is different to most of the other recumbents in a good sence.

This afternoon I was able to enjoy a nice ride with Silvio 80 km.
The weather has been very nice recently so I could ride in shorts and t-shirt.
The first part of the ride was inland with a lot of climbing some hills were steep.
I rode alone for most of the ride.
When I got closer to the coast, there was some road construction.
A club member passed me because I rode slowly.
When the road improved, I was able to catch up and talk with the rider.
He said he did not see many bikes like the one I was riding.
The rider asked if I had to ride on this kind of bike.
I told him I could ride an ordinary bike but that it is not comfortable.
He told me he had neck problems on longer rides.
I told him Silvio has a neck rest so your neck is very comfortable.
He was also impressed with my speed and asked if I had a motor.
I told him there is no motor only me pedaling.
We caught up with another rider that was not a club member so he was not riding fast.
I decide to pass them both on a small hill only the club rider tried to follow.
The club rider followed but was not able to keep up so I waited for him.
When we came to the coast, he rode west and I rode east.

I had about 25 km home.
I like the smaller hills the Silvio climbs well.
Silvio has more suspension then Vendetta so It was more comfortable on the section with construction.

I did meet several families riding together which is very nice.
