Racing contracts for the newly formed Team Low Drag are being finalized in time for Thursdays WTRL Team Time Trials. The Low Drags are the first ever all recumbent team to register for the worlds largest weekly sporting event on the planet. The team is looking for a few more racers to complete the roster and will pay up to 5 times the racers current racing salary. If they already have health insurance then they will also have Health Insurance.
Low Drag will race in the hotly contested Mocha Division and their stated goal is to beat somebody-anybody- just not be last. If this sounds like your kind of racing come join us. Hurry, only a few slots remain.

Interesting, so what does this really mean? what lever? A, B, C, anybody - how does it work, when is the ride? Will Zwift finally give us a recumbent bike to ride too? If so, I will give up my full salary for it!

Interesting, so what does this really mean?

Larry, so glad you asked! It is the continuation of our lifetime goal to get recumbent riders riding and racing in a tight knit group while espousing the virtues of recumbents to the world and beyond.

Another way to look at it is the Coyote recumbents are temporarily splitting from the Herd during this Summer lull to try and pick up more entry level Zwifters and bring them into the flock. So far it's a resounding success, as we are at 6 riders. Of course if we find faster riders we will send them to our appropriate brother and sister teams (Herd/ATP). The plan is to copy the template used by the successful Flamingos and Unicorns.

Now is the time for all you curmudgeons that want to give it a go, but haven't, to hop on the band wagon. You know you want to. We want low racers and we want slow racers and we have a contract for you. Let us know. Sorry Larry, looking at our salary cap we can't afford you or Jason.

Way to go Team Low Drag and Captain Encouraging Moose.

I'd love to race with you but I think I've been training with Arnold Sw. a little too much and he's been "pumping me up" to 3.4-3.8 W/kg = Zwift category B so you'll have to ban me from the team too. Henry what time is Team Low and Slow going?

Zone 7 at 7:35 EST?

To anyone who has not done the Team Time Trial races: they are so much fun, very work-together-to-get-to-the-end-together encouraging, I strongly encourage you to join. @trplay, me (@benphyr), and others will walk you through all the necessary steps to get you going using this forum, email, or whatever works to open the doors for you to share in the WTRL TTT.

(There is a lot of initial set up so contact @trplay or myself as soon as possible - I think registration needs to be in Tuesday.)

These races are the highlight of my week. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

Listen to Benphyr above. That guy knows what he is talking about. We need two more good looking recumbent racers to fill out the squad. We have broke the code and registration is simpler than in the past. Our group is forming the strategy as we speak. It's the World Championship Richmond UCI reverse course which is one of the hardest team courses to negotiate. Don't worry Peter Sagan has nothing over us. We got this. Our group have Cruzbikes, Schlitter bikes, Bacchatta's, and Rans hybrids. Add yours to the mix.

Yes, we are signed up for 7:35PM ET / zone 7.

We have a core of three riders who have ridden in the TTT for many months. We will happily help you get started and learn some basic team tactics. As you gain confidence and power, you can go join the faster guys as Henry mentioned.

Our stated goal is to leave no rider behind. We would rather you have a good learning experience and want to come back again next week!

Did you notice the Freudian slip in the title. —News Flash contacts are being signed. Hitting up everyone in the address/ contact book are you. :p

Are you putting it off like Sam-I-Am in Green Eggs and Ham?
Try it, try it, and you may,
you might like this race I say!

And don’t let my sense of humour put you off. Me and my humour will be tormenting a different team Thursday night. We’ll see you at the after party.

That’s the only training required: how to use the electronic devices. The rest will be on the job coaching by folks like @trplay.

Seven riders have signed up to what's become an all Star line-up. One more slot and it is hot. You better pull that potato out of the oven before it's gone.

It is somebody's lucky day! RAT Rider has to pull out of the TTT due to work issues leaving another spot for some fortunate son. If this means you, send me a PM and we will get you registered pronto. All race fees to be paid by Rat Rider himself. Any women considering the women's teams aren't so lucky. The Flamingo and Unicorn rosters are full. Sorry Ladies, you snoozed and lost. Jump in early next week.

Truth be told females can ride (even if you have no room with Team Low Drag) if they don’t mind a coed learning environment. We Killer Bees have two queens and 4-6 drones most weeks. (No comments are necessary about the usefulness of drones - we really do pull our weight, really.)

It looks like every Herd team and The newly formed all recumbent Team Low Drag is filled to capacity. During the summer lull this is a testament to the popularity of the TTT. The Low Drags are excited and crossing their final T's to get ready to go. If we have a late drop out we will give a shout out for help. If not plan to join us next week as we expect to break up into two teams. If we do, we will be needing riders from both the top to bottom of the scale.

It will be amazing if we are able to jump from 1 to 2 teams in a week! Drop a comment here if you are interested at all. We will start planning the teams as early as Friday. The biggest question is if we have enough riders for @trplay to register both teams. We can always move people between teams after that.

Talking with @trplay , we would like to be able to field 2 Mocha teams still. This means we can have up to 3 category C racers on a team. Most likely that would mean a team with our Cs and a few gullible D riders and then a team made up of all D riders. But, we will adjust once you tell us you are interested and we will work out teams so everyone can have a great, enjoyable team race with other recumbent riders.

It does seem like the dam is breaking and the floodwaters have started to flow in the virtual cycling world. There's been a whole lot of people involved that have helped get us to this point. Josh, Roy, and Jason immediately come to mind. When you think about it, this is simply a neat idea. Cruzbike has always been a leader in recumbent innovation. They fund racers for major events. They have developed the buy back bike if you don't go faster program. They have produced funny videos. And the list goes on and on. I should also mention that they have actually wind tunnel tested their bikes.

Cruzbike has now embraced the virtual community. Every Thursday night we can ride/race along side of the CEO Maria, Chief bottle washer Jim, Product and Customer Experience Manager Robert Holler, and super Race phenom Jason Perez. Yes, even Larry is there if his system is working. And don't forget there's an after race party on Discord where we have direct access to all of these wonderful people. What a great time to ask Robert about that new Cruzbike accessory or Jason on how you might get some more watts. How cool is this! Once again Cruzbike is leading the way.

Team Low Drag is set , ready, and waiting. This is the first all recumbent group to try the TTT. All our mixed team cousins need to remember the after race party on the cruzbike Discord channel. While your partying feel free to jump on our low drag channel and bring us in. This goes for any other lurkers also. Jim has a job as mule to get us around the course. He can use all of your help you can give.
