Oh Cruzbike, you spoiled me rotten.

Today my cruzbike was at the bicycle repairman because of spoke noises and some problems with the gears. I wanted it to be perfect for my ride this weekend. 110 km saturday and 110 km home sunday. Not on time, and riding along, but i expect it to take 6 hours.

However i still had to go to work today, so i toke the old MTB that has been standing in the basement. It was so awfully uncomfortable you wouldnt believe it. I only have 5 km to work, but it was still 5 km's of pain. I have a saddle with suspension, my butt still hurt. I have bicycle gloves, and my hands still hurt. But the worst was my neck. It was so painfull to drive with my neck lifted to actually see anything.

I picked up my cruzbike after work, and it was a happy reunion. It is so much better. I will never ride my MTB again, but will leave it to rot, because it is just not worth it. While riding it i was afraid of using the front brake because else i was sure i would fall over and kiss the ground. I was driving carefull because with my recent accident in mind, i was sure that if i had ridden my MTB, i would not have walked away from the accident. I hate the old bike so much that i almost want to pay money to someone to take it away, but loosing it cant be that hard, just put it out on the street and leave it unlocked.

For anyone still in doubt and reading this. BUY A CRUZBIKE TODAY, YOU WONT REGRET IT.

I agree. I just finished up building my wife's replacement bike based on my old Trek 5200 carbon fibre frame. It rides as nice as you can expect; I did three double centuries on it. But when I test rode it the other night..... GOOD LORD!!

Jon,

You should really find someone who cuts up bikes and makes recumbents... sort of like a redemption resserruction thing... a new birth for a flawed bike. Why punish a hapless thief with a bad bike?

Thieves needs punishment for stealing

If only my old MTB was a dual suspension, but it is only in front and it is too tall to be a good cruzbike conversion. I do want an offroad cruzbike though, preferably with big wide 29" wheels because big wheels rolls over obstacles easier than small wheels. Besides they look cool.

I am probably gonna sell it if i can.

Use it to introduce a friend to cycling. Take them on some rides, show them why it's great to ride. Then, maybe they will either buy your bike, or buy a Cruzbike.

No, I think you have to sell vegetable seed packets to get a free bicycle.

Hi Guys,
I have to agree to all those comments.
Between extra riding and staying up late to watch the tour of France I have been away from the forum.
Yesterday I rode my mtb to the city to have a picnic lunch with my wife and I thought the kids had been playing with the cycle computer, thinking it was in miles instead of the usual kilometers. It seemed so slow and sure enough by the time I was getting close to home my "untrained" bum was getting uncomfortable.
The sofrider on the other hand is getting a usual midweek 85K ride and 150K on the weekend. At the end of the ride I just have sore leg muscles and thats that.
I hope your 2 day ride is pleasant Jon, and Mark... I can't help but feel sorry for your bike dilemma. But then we won't hear from you when it comes good. It will be firstly burning the midnight oil, then a quick test and fine tuning, then "bye till I get home dear...".
I think we know the symptoms.

Until then,

Rick.
