I'm new Quest 2.0 owner, this is my first recumbent and no any recumbent experiment before. After two weeks practing in the near by park, I ended up about 24 km hilly terrrain cycling from Taipei city to the Yangmin mountain (600m height). After this trip I changed my Quest's casseettes to 11~32t, expect further improvement for hilly area cycling.

Hi,

Sounds like a very promising start. Keep it up (and keep reporting back to us!).

Am I correct that you have the 26" (559) wheels? If so, I can easily understand the standard gearing not being low enough for hills.

Cheers,
Charles

Hi Wong,
O.k.  Good to know.

Hi Wong,

O.k. Good to know. :) With the 32T big ring on the cassette, you match both the rear cassette on my Sofrider and are pretty close to the same low end gear inch that I have (I've got a 26" wheel, 22T granny gear and 32T on the rear cassette). For big hills here (or the medium hills pulling a trailer), I often find myself in the lowest gear.

Ride safe,
Charles
