Parking brake

So after having my Silvio fall again after parking it.I finally realize a parking brake is needed. All C.B. have this problem [heavy Frt. end]. Use a wrist band on the front brake. Band is on the brake hood when not at use. When used just stretch it to the brake lever.

Hi,

It's a great idea (and you can actually find ruberbands that are designed just for this purpose). I agree the Cruzbikes are particularly front-heavy, but I find that this technique works well on all bikes. It is much harder for a bike to fall over if its front wheel doesn't rotate.

Cheers,
Charles

Same great idea and at only $2.99, you can keep your LiveSTRONG band on your wrist :)

I just use a section of inner tube

I think it's MTB inner tube, but it might even be some 700x23C.
Works perfect for me - and aesthetically blends in with the rest of everything black.

There is a brand of brake levers call Promax. Used a lot on trikes as you really need a parking brake on those. You pull on the brake lever and then push a button that hold your brakes "on". You release them by pulling lightly on the lever and the button pops out.

I have also seen somewhere (maybe on this forum) that the lolution is to turn your front wheel hard right - 180 degree - and that will stop the bike from trying to roll away.

I'm getting my Sofrider next month, so I've been reading this forum and watching the videos. Will check back as soon as I get it.
