Q Touring and Commuting Rack + RACKTIME Odin Bag = Friday Morning Blues

I received my Commuting Rack yesterday and installed it late last evening. Everything went pretty well with the install - even without instructions.

My frustration came when I tried to attached my new RACKTIME Odin Bag. Although Cruzbike says this rack is compatible with RACKTIME accessories, I could not get it attached. Every way and everything I tried, something was in the way.

This is most likely my fault but I am truly stumped.

The photo with yellow circle is the part that seems to to stop bag from attaching under 2 cross bars.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I could use some help.

I assume (mistakenly?) that the clip on the Bag goes towards the front of the bike/seat?

I have attached pictures of the rack for reference.

Thanks in advance for your insights!

Happy Friday!

Not sure how your bag looks but I think it's better to mount the upper two bars of the rack like I did:

It gives you more space on the sides so the bag can come forward, closer to the seat. My Ortlieb Office Bag would even fit on the side of the rack if the bars were mounted like yours.

I had the same problem getting a RACKTIME bag to attach to the Q rack. After removing the whole bag mounting system from the bag, and trying to adapt it unsuccessfully, I gave up and bought a cheap Bushwacker bag from Amazon that attaches with Velcro straps. Works better than I thought it would.

Still have the expensive RACKTIME bag, so when I was at Bike Sebring I asked Robert from Cruzbike about what was going on. He said RACKTIME totally changed their mounting system so those bags won’t mount on the Q rack. Guess they better change the website saying they are compatible.

I reached out to Cruzbike Friday by email also. I heard back from Robert later in the day and he explained the change from Racktime also. He was going to check and see what he can do to help me.

I looked back and the web site doesn't mention compatibility. I heard the recommendation on their older YouTube video on how to install this rack.

I feel better knowing that I was not missing something on my part. No hard feelings from a simple oversight. Cruzbike puts out an amazing amount of content to help current and would-be riders. I am both. I no bought my QX100 a month ago and am getting it ready for a season of riding as spring is ready to break here in PA.

As a thrifty rider, I am going to use what I have at hand to try and adapt my Racktime bag to this rack in the event that Robert doesn't help me with a better solution. It is an awesome bag. Now I just need to figure out adapt it for every day use. I plan to start commuting to work as much as possible.

Thanks for your comments and keep them coming.

Cruzbike makes a great product and is super responsive with it's support.

This forum is yet another reason I am proud to be part of the Cruzbike tribe.
