Long Chain Stay & heavy duty rack

What are the advantages or disadvantages of the long chain stay for the quest bicycle?

Do you think it would be easy to add side rails to the heavy duty rack for the quest bicycle so that I could carry two panniers?

Thanks for your help

Hi Stephan,

I don't have a Quest, but my understanding is that it's a simple as you think:

Advantage of longer chain stay is that it allows both 26" and 22" (451) wheels. The only disadvantage is harder to pack (and slightly more weight).

There's a nice thread on this forum about panniers on a Quest. My favorite (well, I posted it) was how David Byrne mounted panniers under the seat. (He did this for both his Sofrider and his wife's Quest).

Cheers,
Charles

The differences found

The differences found comparing V2 with V1 include:
1) larger OD seat tube
2) QR on the steering extension
3) SRAM 3 x 9 internal hub / cassette gearing system
4) elliptical chainring
5) seat removable without tools
6) other minor improvements

The fold and packing procedure is unchanged.
