Question on V20 seat attachment

Hi Gang,
I'm going to start the build of the Red V20 ( Thanks Barry) There are 2 holes at the top of the seat that are suppose to go to clamps around the head rest tubes. I see some builds where there is nothing here but the velcro, some with the clamps, and the newer V20's have ears here like at the bottom of the seat pan.
Should I concern my self with these clamps ? I dont have them but can draw and 3D print clamps if needed.

Thoughts ?

Thanks

Velcro even not considering your weight should be adequate to resist any side forces. I think the purpose of those holes may be more for the clamp than the seat.

I ride my conversion kit (pictured in my avatar). The seat is secured but the seat cushion is supposed to be held on with velcro however the velcro adhesive is virtually non-existent so the seat cushion can slide around - It rarely moves even with me sitting or standing up at every intersection. I once even took home a custom ordered 2' x 3' aluminum sign (packed in a box for shipping) tucked between the cushion and seat back. That was awkward and it really did want to get pulled out by gravity, wind, any movement I made of my back but it still only moved when I sat up at lights. That was with nothing whatsoever between the cardboard and the aluminum seat back to stop it sliding around. Velcro should be fine for the seat. I still should replace the velcro but..

Just to be sure @Andrew Wilson - you aren’t saying that you are going to skip the headrest clamps?
@benphyr is right - Velcro is plenty sufficient for the seat(pan) but AFAIK the headrest *needs* the clamps (inside the seat tube).

The headrest scissor clamp is there. I was talking about the two round clamps that hold the top of the seat down. I’ll draw something up an print them just for assurance. It’s all together and a quick test ride. I will wrap the bars tomorrow. I’m beat.

@ratz doesn't even bother with bolts on his bikes and just relies on the velcro. I prefer to have two bolts upfront and at least one in the rear because I tend to get airborne more often then the average rider on here. If you don't have those little two round clamps I'm pretty sure they are a standard bike luggage clamps used for most saddle bags and such, you can probably find them local.

If you're frame still has the old style scissor clamp for the headrest then I highly suggest you get the updated Perez clamps, they'll save you a lot of headache when make headrest adjustment during the fitting process.
