quick release pivot clamp

Hi there

I am getting fed up loosening the two screws on my sofrider pivot clamp to fit the bike (remove handlebars) into the train station bike lockers here in Perth Australia.

I note the Quest has a quick release variety of pivot clamp....

But some forum entries have suggested it isn't really a quick release as you have to pinch up the bolts anyway.

Three questions
to anyone who may know;

1) Is the Quest pivot clamp really quick release
2) Will it fit a Sofrider V2
3) where can I get one if the answer to 1 and 2 is yes

Many thanks

1) I used the double quick

1) I used the double quick release on the Quest only to the point I ended up with a scar on my knee because it didn't hold in a tight turn and down I went

. And I had muscled the clamps very tight but they still slipped. After that I used a hex wrench to tighten them up more than hand clamping tight could get them.

2) See 1)

3) See 1)

Also, I've got large gymnastics thighs and calves and found I tended to brush the edges of the clamps slightly with my inner thigh from time to time.

Your mileage may vary...

Its what I suspected, those handlebars take a fair bit of twist on any decent incline requiring a bit of upper body work from the rider. I'll stick with the allen key and the 2 minutes it takes to align the handlebars each evening.

Thanks for your time .
