QX100 headset: alternative to FIRST BI-3

That should indeed work in combination with a regular headset. It is pretty much the same combo that is now used on the current T50. Though that iOS an OEM version and not the Problem Solvers brand.

I've added the factory's link:

FIRST told me, that the BI-3 is not any longer offered.
Thanks a lot for your prompt feedback, @Robert Holler

which brand/type is used on the current T50?
The problems solver combi is not deliverable (I can order the adjustable spacer online in Germany, but not the locking spacer). There is a shop in the Netherlands, but they don't deliver to Germany or Switzerland.

Hmmm. It is basically the same thing, just "ungraded OEM" so not an item that is available to consumers as it is only provided to manufacturing sector. The Problem Solvers as a "Brand" is a QBP (Quality Bike Parts) named/branded line for them as a distributor. It is probably made by the same company.

I have not seen any clone versions of it.

The locking spacer - there is a similar thing by Trek - the Knock Block Headset Lockring Spacer

Ok, the Trek 545523 knock block lockring spacer 1 1/8'' is an altenative, thanks!
Edit: in the meantime I have disassebled the bits and pieces: the FIRST BI-3 is not broken. My apologizes! But the gap of the spacer for the screw to push together is nearly zero. Probably worn out (woehler diagram: not any longer the elastic stage...).
Could I use an ordinary double saddle clamp like these one:

or a BMX clamp of this style (diameter of this example is not correct):
Might not slip that easily.
