Hi all!
I have a QX100 that I've been working on for a few months in an attempt to turn it into a road bike instead of a mountain bike. I've gotten new tires, new brake calipers, new brakes and shifters, and new (used) handlebars. It's much more road-styled now, and works better, but I've just realized that you can also turn the rear support tube around to massively lower the seat angle. At the lowest point, in fact, it's at about the same angle as my V20 - which is so much better than I ever expected. It raises a bit of an issue, though, because if I keep it at that low angle, the handlebars are completely inaccessible! I've looked into longer stems, but 150mm seems like the maximum readily available - which would help, but definitely not enough. So, I'm curious about doing an Emeljay mod on it to make it more or less a Vendetta with suspension. Does anyone know if the stem used on the non-T50 modern bikes (like the one used on the V20 to connect the steerer tube and the boom) is compatible with the QX100 steerer tube, and if so, does Cruzbike sell those parts separately? It'd be awesome to just assemble a front end rather than having to custom fabricate it as others have done before. In addition, has anyone mounted a standard headrest of any sort to the back of the QX100/Q45 seat? It definitely needs one at this angle, lol! Any kind of suggestions would be appreciated; making a Vendetta with actual suspension is well worth most costs. Touring on a racing-style, suspension-equipped Cruzbike would be AWESOME.
