I have spoken to three metal workers:
They all recommended to drill a 2mm whole at the end of the crack (afterwords sanding of the whole, minimizing sharp edges), bending hammering or bending back the alloy if possible and filling the crack with two components metal glue. The best would be soldering.
One has recommended to mount a 25x40 rectangular alloy on the side where you sit.
I will first try the wooden seat I was given and if this seat does not work out, I might drill the two whloes and use metal glue (it's important to have a clean and fat-free surface before glueing.)
