Lessee.... Standing in line for food.. Standing in line for a cold shower.... Standing in line to use a porta potty.... 13000+ crazy people on bikes.... Tempting as all that sounds, think I'll pass!

Seriously, RAGBRAI has been on my "to do list" for some time. In my opinion though, there are other cross-state rides that probably deliver more fun for your dollar without the crowds.

Hello Mark,

We sag with a small club from Council Bluffs and the sag truck includes 'hot showers', BUT by the end of the week the other lines do get old.

The reason I asked, would like to meet up with a CRUZBIKE'er during the week. Have yet to see a CRUZBIKE on RAGBRAI. See a lot of BACCHETTA's though.

Ride safe, Jack

Someday we'd like to do RAGBRAI, but not this year.
Maria and I are planning on doing Bike Virginia (25-30 JUN) again this summer. We did it last year and the countryside is gorgeous with lots of fun hills through the Blue Ridge. We haven't decided which bikes to ride. I'm considering the Quest 559 ...not quite as fast as my Silvio, but can carry more load and I might like the triple and disc brakes on the hills. I need a chance to really bond with the new machine and this would give me that opportunity.

Speaking of Iowa rides, there is another fun ride that is (mostly) in Iowa, and that's the TOMRV (Tour of Mississippi River Valley). It's a 2 day ride 12-13 June with about 1500 riders. Maria and I missed the event, but downloaded the cue sheets and road the whole course in one day on Sofriders in 2008- a very beautiful ride with some challenging hills.

Hello Jim,

I've been looking at recumbents since last May (that's when I discovered your site and Cruzbikes). Really leaning towards the Silvio. On last years RAGBRAI I was hoping to see a Cruzbike, but then again with 10,000 bikes on the road it's easy to miss someone. Thought by posting this early might connect with someone and have the opportunity to check out the Cruzbike.

Posted in the forum and found a Colorado Cruzbike owner not to far away. So when the weather warms up and roads clear will be contacting him and check out his Cruzbike.

The Quest 559 looks real interesting too. Silvio/Quest, Quest/Silvio, great choices.

TOMRV's on my bucket list as well, but once ya go RAGBRAI, ya gotta keep going back.
Ride safe,
Jack
