Ragbrai 2025

We've sent this out as an email, but I wanted to make sure anyone on the forum knew that we are doing Ragbrai as our ride retreat for 2025. The price goes up December 31, so sign up soon to save money. We already have 12 people signed up, I'd love to have at least 30!
The dates are July 19-26th, 2025

To join Team Cruzbike:
We are using Brancel Charters to move our bikes and gear and we'll camp with them.
  • You can sign up with Brancel here: https://register.brancelcharters.com/ We've talked with them and Cruzbike's will not incur the additional recumbent charge. Just reply "no" to the question "are you bringing a recumbent bike?" Also note that you are with Cruzbike.

I am wondering about whether to splurge for the full Brancel Charter package, or just the shuttle portion. This will be my first time doing RAGBRAI.

I can't even read about this event without a VPN set outside the EU. It's a shame. Am I missing out on something?

Jen and I are in. Jen's not a Cruzbiker but she is crazy enough to ride with one. I understand last year's ride was very hilly.....who knows what this year will bring?

I’ve been in similar rides, a couple times using a tent service. There will be a significant social benefit to staying with the group. The benefits go beyond having your luggage moved and a tent set up. Chairs, shade, towels, refreshments, chargers, and just being together with your group makes it worthwhile. Now I really wish I could join y’all.
Edit: It appears Brancel does not have a tent & mattress service like Bubba's and others. You do get quite a bit of other benefits. From them:

Camping and daily baggage service option:
  • Campsites selected in advance by visiting each overnight town
  • Campers are limited which provides us with greater flexibility in selecting campsites
  • Our campsites have
    • Shower trucks (additional cost)
    • Canopies
    • Chairs
    • Portable bathrooms
    • Hand washing stations
    • Electronic charging station
    • Luggage carts
    • Wide variety of beverages
    • Bike pumps
    • Bags are covered when it rains
  • A bike mechanic traveling with our group My Bike Guy
  • Color coded luggage tags
  • Personalized service from a family run business.
  • Official RAGBRAI approved charter service
Optional services. We offer numerous optional services. We know not everyone will use every service if they come in a package. Offering additional services “ala carte” allows our customers to only pay for use.

    • Dinner in our camp at least one night
    • Daily towel service
    • Mid-week laundry
    • Coffee
    • Massage
    • Limited sag to the next overnight town

Thank you for that input. It is true that without joining this group, I would be doing it alone. Guess I will find a way to make it happen!

This seems like the perfect type of ride for the Q45, party pace all day! What’s everyone bringing to the ride?
