Rear vs under seat pannier racks?

I am 5' 10", weigh 160 and get rb and hot foot riding on the trainer, after 40 minutes. Both with the stock seat and Ventisit. Both came used with the bike, so I bought a new stock seat, and that didn't help. I compared the pads and the old one has a thin foam on the bottom and thicker 'cushion' on top. The new one was the opposite and is firmer, and less comfortable. I started putting a piece of padding on top of the seat on my indoor rides. https://www.amazon.com/Cushion-Breathable-Honeycomb-Pressure-Non-Slip/dp/B08XX3W5KR/ref=mp_s_a_1_14

Using the pad my rb and hot foot is much better. I am working on a way to replace the original inner pad with something like this.

Since the s40 is the model with the most rb complaints, I wonder if adding a wedge cushion that is thin at the front of the seat and thicker where it meats the backrest, changing the angle under the butt would help?

Outdoor riding, strangely, is more comfortable than indoor riding. I have done several 100 plus mile days (not consecutive, but have done two 85 mile days back to back) and find the stock and Ventisit comfortable, only needing to stop and walk every couple of hours.

Front is tightest fit but fender fits with clearance.
I was surprised that the rear fender gave me more problems, but got it mounted.
First ride will be today.

Following up on this post.
I recently completed an 8 day self-supported trip around the Adirondack (NY) park - 370 miles and nearly 20,000 ft elevation gain. Even though I had to walk some of the hills, when I was riding I had no RB pain! The tires (40 psi rear) did a great job of making some rough roads tolerable.
As another data point, I switched to 700x32 tubeless (60 psi rear) when I returned home to return the S40 to a road bike. A little more jarring than the bigger tires (expected) but not nearly as pad as running with a tube (70 psi). I was also surprised at the change in handling with the skinnier tires. Took me more than a few miles to get my brain rewired.
From my previous post you can see I was using an Old Man Mountain rack on the rear. Since the S40 was a new purchase and last-minute decision for the trip I used what I had and was very happy with it. Since I needed a set of underseat panniers too I figured out a way to mount the US rack from my Q45 to the S40. I had no problems with this setup and will like continue to use it in the future.

I have an older V20, no recumbutt, nor was it an issue on my S30 (recently destroyed in an accident). Recumbutt is an issue with my Q45 (after 30-40 minutes of riding), even with the seat lowered as much as possible. Have resorted to wearing padded shorts like the upright guys do. That seems to help some. Have friends riding S40’s and they always complain about recumbutt on their bikes.
I wish Cruzbike would bring back the S30 Silvio (HINT: Are you reading this Cruzbike?). For me that has been the most comfortable bike to ride. It was also nearly as fast as the V20, but more comfortable.

I agree 100%. The perfect touring bike is an S40 that is 30 degrees (S30) The Silvio wasn't really set up for touring like the S40. I have converted my Q45 to be a 30 deg angle and it works well except it's 50 lbs with all the touring racks on it.

I get no recumbutt on my V20, a little bit on my last generation S30, but it usually goes away after 15 minutes, and got it badly enough on my S40 that I had to sell it. I like my S30, but yeah, it's not really designed to carry much more than just the rider. I liked the flexibility built into the S40 design--a real chameleon bike, ready for almost anything, depending on how you set it up. But alas, the recumbutt (at least for me. I always try to point out that plenty of people seem to have no such issue with their S40s. It's not a universal problem). I've said a few times over the years that if CB put out a limited S30 run based on the S40 design, I doubt they would have trouble selling them. But I imagine that Cruzbike being a small business that has to be mindful of its overhead, putting out such a limited model run to a relatively small customer base could be cost prohibitive, or, "bad business." Still, the idea of an S40-like S30 sure does appeal. I'd most likely buy one.
