removing the Kind air shock

The new Silvio S30 has the air shock removed. Does anyone know if I would be able to remove the shock of my Silvio 2 without damaging the headset? I know that it would probably give me a different seat angle and that the fork might need to be cut.

I was thinking it would give me geometry like the new S30. After looking at Robert's description of the new S30, it sounds like it handles better without the shock.

Sorry to say that is not possible, or more proper really strongly not recommended. The shock is emedded into the fork. If you replace the fort with a shock less one the geometry of the bike would change due to the shorter fork, and the handling would be compromised. The new S30 has a new head tube weld angle to compensate.

However if you want a similar "ride" you can pump up the shock to a high pressure so that in most cases it doesn't compress. You can also run it "Flat" but that's not recommended.

When I first started riding this bike it was so bumpy my eyeballs nearly fell out. It was because the shock was rock hard.

I had 6 months of riding with a leaking front air bag on ROUGH Bike paths, and have had to get new prescription glasses!

After looking at it carefully I realized it was probably not possible. I did inflate the shock to 180 psi. It does seem to give a little better control. Thanks for confirming that I can't remove it.

I also noticed that it is a slightly bumpier ride. Only on the big bumps though.

find a vendetta which has been rear-ended and use the front triangle.

There is a way to non permenantly disable the shock. I have the part, photos will follow but give me a couple of days to reveal the method.
