Nothing unusual about -7C Slim, especially if you live in Canberra like I do. We have had a couple of weeks of temps between -5 and -7 first thing in the morning this year.

Temora for an audax 400. Bailed out on Sunday ride. Crazy the fog descended and froze my gloves. So did my bidons. Even colder Sunday morning so I rolled over. Lol.
That is COLD!!!! Was it only freezing at first light?
With freezing fog with no visibility, stopping is a MUCH safer option!

Coldest around 7 am. Started at 5 am. Fog lifted around 11 am. Visibility about 10 m some pockets. Took it easy.

Got in around 11.30 pm. Decided then and there 400 was enough. I had signed up for the 200 on Sunday but it was even colder. One cabin mate got in around 5 am in a heck of a way. Pity the few who had signed up for the individual 600. Lol and they asked me why not just do the 600 instead of the 400 and 200. My reply. Options I have options. Lol

That is a VERY IMPRESSIVE 22.2 kph average under extreme conditions!!!
I hope there were no caravaners on the roads, when the fogg was present!!!

I averaged 26. Something. Got to stop eat nature calling take pics and marvel at the livestock. Also to remove ice from the specs lol. I also spent the last seventy klm pumping up my front tyre every 10 klm with a slow leak courtesy of a wooden decked bridge. My hands could not have changed the tube. Not an audax I’ll do again in July.

Still a great experience as any cycling usually is.

Going out now on df. Have not repaired flat yet. ............

I have ridden in cold like that in the London suburbs, when the street is white with frost. If it is that cold the ice freezes bone dry and is not slippery. Aussies can have their beer at the barbie and they don't have to mess around with a cooler or a portable fridge.
