Rim brakes on new S40.

Currently I have two DF bikes and an ebike comutter.I'm planning on buying a Cruzbike. My preference would be two bikes both a S40 and V20 but intially I'd only be able to get one. If I had to have one bike it would be the S40 as it would be future proof with its ability to carry bags and do light gravel.I see S40s with rim brakes but from what I can see of the new frames it only has through axles on the forks which would seem to preclude the use of rim brake wheels unless it's possible to use through axles on rim brake wheels.(I've never seen that.). So can the new S40 frame take rim brakes.

Hi,
I think it might be possible. There are kits which convert through axles to QR hubs. My S40 does have attach points in the front fork and the frame for the rear brake. Not sure you’d need long reach or standard reach. Is your plan to swap in your DF wheels?
Cheers.

I have deleted my reply because it was inaccurate. Thank you for the correction @Randyc3

Hi,
I have a new S40 which has disc brakes. The frame has attach points, but it will not be easy to change. On the front fork, long reach brakes would be needed or extenders. Rear brakes would need to have an adapter plate made to move the brakes to the proper distance. Took a picture of the front fork with a spare brake held in place as a confirmation.

Hi, agree. Up to Michael if he wants to do the conversion if he gets the S40.
FYI- extenders I used in the past on another bike. Cheers.
