Hi All,

I have for sale a Cruzbike S30. This is the now-discontinued “Goldilocks” or “Unicorn” Cruzbike version that sat between the V20c and the S40 with an approximate 30-degree seat angle. It has a carbon-fiber rear leaf suspension with an elastomer spring/damper.

This bike was bought from Rose City Recumbents in 2017, and was one of the very last S30 frame sets sold. It is in very good shape with some small nicks and scratches from normal use. It includes a variety of options for handlebars, sliders, etc.

The pictures shown below are the current setup. Two variations are depicted: one with the standard CB carbon seat and headrest; the others with the new adjustable carbon seat and headrest. The latter is offered as an option at an additional price.

The bike build:
- Cranks: SRAM Apex cranks shortened to 152 mm by Mark Stonich of BikeSmith Design
- Chainring: 44t narrow-wide for 1x system
- Pedals: Shimano T8000 trekking pedals (one side spd; the other platform with spikes)
- ChainStay: 19 inch S30 chain stay with upgraded demountable BB clamps
- Handlebar: Salsa Woodchipper 42 cm wide; grip area secured with golf handle shrink tubing
- Cruzbike curved slider
- Brifters = SRAM Rival modified via Ratio Technology to support 12 speed shifting
- Cassette: SunRace CSMZ90 11 - 50t 12-speed
- Derailleur: SRAM Force 11 with Garbaruk long cage upgrade to support max 52t cog and 12-speeds
- Chain: SRAM Eagle
- Brakes: Juin-Tech R1 cable actuated hydraulic calipers; with Jagwire compressionless cable housing
- Brake rotors: Ashima ultralight 160 mm
- Seat: OEM Cruzbike carbon seat with headrest and new one-piece cushion
- Updated Perez clamp for OEM headrest mount
- (2) bottle cages - one on slider; the other under the seat
- (2) Zefal Spy mirrors (a little scratched but functional)
- Wheels: Performer 700c carbon wheels 50 mm deep rims; not tubeless compatible
- Tires: Continental Gran Prix 5000 28x622 with Vittoria ultralight TPU tubes

Extras included:
- Straight slider
- original S30 handlebar
- Short (approx 16 in) S30 chain stay
- OEM S30 chain stay (approx 19-3/4 in)
- (2) spare QR skewers for front wheel (extra long)
- Spare rear suspension elastomer (1 new; 1 used and somewhat weathered)
- Extra chain
- (2) spare disc brake pads
- (2) spare derailleur hangers
- (2) spare Schwalbe SV15 butyl inner tubes
- Original 2-piece S30 carbon seat pad set

Asking $2,600 for the assembly with the OEM seat only. The adjustable carbon fiber seat and headrest assembly (presently a $700 option on the CB store) can be included for an additional $450. If shipping is required, buyer and seller share the cost.

I am in Madison, WI and if required will ship from here unless I decide to wimp out and take it up to the Hostel Shoppe to pack for me. It’s a tossup at the moment.

Give me holler if you have any questions or comments. The bike has been cleaned, lubed, and adjusted so it is ready to ride once you set your slider and seat adjustments..

Thanks for your interest.

I wonder how this would work for touring. How wide a tire is there room for?
Regarding fit: how tall a person is the bike set up for, in the pictures?

This bike works fine for touring and randonneuring. At least one member on this forum rode one in PBP last year. I know of one other in Europe that is also ridden by a randonneur. No problem there.

Works fine for touring.

The limiting clearance for tire sizes are set by the rear brake bridge width. Measurements give;
700c tires limited to 30mm max, 28 is more comfortable.
650b wheel max clearance is 39 mm, max tire size is about 35 mm for 2 mm clearance on each side. I've run 32 x 650b routinely. With the rear suspension and 28 mm tires, a pretty smooth ride even on roughish roads.
26 in wheel max clearance is 43 mm, so likely want to keep tire size to 38 mm or so.

The bike as shown in the photos is set up for my short height of 5'7". However, it can accommodate both a smaller rider and much taller. For fit guidance ,please see the Cruzbike fit Guide at https://cruzbike.com/blogs/blog/don-t-try-it-just-buy-it

What do you like/not like about the adjustable CF seat and headrest?
The Adjustable CF seat is fine; a significant improvement over the OEM flat seat for me at least. The included adjustable neckrest is also great. Really nothing to dislike, expect it'd be nice if it were free... :)
