Luckily there's honor here among thieves...er...Cruzbikers ;)
I love this community and I definitely don't want to step on anyone's toes. I oftentimes try to buy rare or limited edition items because I know they hold their value a little better, but I'd feel kinda bad for putting a pristine Silvio through a pretty tough race right out of the gate, especially one that is going to knock it around some.

Brother, bikes are for ridin' like cars are for drivin'. I'd ride the hell out of that bike because that's it's reason for being. It's rarity is a matter of circumstance. When you're about to leave this world for the next will you look at that bike and be happy it is still in mint condition or will you wish you had ridden it more? There's all kinds of value. Most of which can't be measured in dollars.

Anyone else here buying it would ride the hell out of it, or at least I hope they would. It's not a museum piece!

Just in case the deal does not go through... and, I hope it does for all parties... but, just in case it does not... :)
Any how... I wanted to ask if this bike does, indeed, have full suspension, and if so... could you describe the mechanisms
and your experience with it?
Thanks and best regards

The S30, the last version made, is rear suspension only. You can tell the later version with rear suspension only by the the shape of the cut out on the gusset plate that supports the rear wheel stay/leaf spring. Triangular = rear suspension only. Circle = dual suspension.

In general the front suspension added complexity, weight and cost. I think the rear suspension only is a better design.

Actually, let me correct myself. The S30 is not the last version of the Silvio, it is the last version of the Silvio with suspension. The S40 is the latest Silvio and from all reports an excellent bike.

I watched Robert's build video of the S-40.
If the seat angle on the S-30 is approx 30 degrees, then, by
comparison, is the seat angle of the S-40 set at 40 degrees?
BTW: The attention to detail in the design of the S-40 was impressive...
... and Robert has produced some very informative CB videos.

This S30 is the last batch that was made, one of only 100 of them. It does not have front suspension but does have rear suspension. It makes for a very fast, stable, and comfortable bike. It's a true unicorn.

Yes, the S40 seat angle is 40 degrees, and of course the V20 Vendetta's is 20 degrees You could consider the Silvo S30 the Goldilocks of the 3. I've got some foam pads under my Ventisit seat pad that adds a few degrees so I don't have to worry about air getting under my visor and drying out my eyes.

Just a Vendetta now. I've got a pristine titanium DF that I love, but hasn't seen the light of day since January, as well as a crossbike that I use every day. I'd love to replace the titanium bike with another CB because the wife won't let me have 4 bikes.

@Al_D until recently, I had a V20, the same S30 up for sale here, and a S40. I decided that having all three was too redundant and planned to sell one of them. No way would I sell my V20! So I debated between keeping the S30 or S40. Not an easy decision, but the S30 won. Almost as fast as the V20, and once I put a rear rack on it, almost as friendly as the S40. I also suffered some recumbutt with the S40, with very little on the S30 (which eventually stops altogether), and none ever on the V20.

Nope. Not yet. I can't have 4 bikes in this house. But that isn't the issue since if I bought it, it would be sitting in Texas until after the race is done. By that time I could have my titanium bike sold, freeing up space. The issue is that my brother isn't in Texas now, which I found out from my sister last night. He often travels around the world surfing, but is in Alaska.

With that said, I am sorry but I am gonna have to wait a bit Bentsoup :(

Lmao
I am still in the hunt for another n+1.
As if I need another ride.
I really need to finish the mods to what I have.
I would like a better climber than the v, but I like the lower cg.
The appeal of the 30 is the in betweenness so One can keep most of the speed, but get a better climbing position , a little suspension and much easier to fly with.

I agree 3bs. The seat angle is only slightly higher, and for ultra distance races that have significant climbing, I think it would be difficult to gauge which is actually faster overall. This Silvio is a much better buy IMO than what I got my V20 for because of the rarity, condition and extras. TBH, I thought $2400 was a mistype :D

Nah, I didn't commit braddah. If you want it, it is yours. Just know that if you do buy it and for some ungodly or unforseen reason it doesn't work for you then selling it shouldn't be too difficult. I would still be a possible buyer in 6-10 months since shipping my bike from Japan to the US and back after the race is gonna cost an arm and a leg. It would just make sense to buy another CB and keep it at my brother's place for races in the US.
