S40 2x Shift Housing Length

I just did this conversion on my S40. For the front derailleur , I used a Microshift bar end shifter and it required about 54” of housing. The bar end shifter is friction, works great and will shift anything.

For a 2x S40 build, you’ll probably need about 12 to 14 feet of shift housing, give or take. I’ve done similar setups before, and that’s typically what I’ve ended up using. It might vary a bit depending on your frame and how you route everything, but that should give you a pretty solid estimate.
