S40 build

This is the first 12 speed setup I've had so I don't have anything to compare it to. I was concerned about the machining of the chainwheels but it seems to shift really well, front and rear.

That’s perfect, and you answered my post about how small one can go with sram axs so thank you!

I think mine will be near identical to yours with the exception of the crankset and paint color, which is to say nice build.

Does my new build look like it fits me properly?

You have a good bend in your knee with your leg extended. Looks good! I always have the trouble of my but sliding down toward the end of the seat. Keep that in mind while riding. I have a Thor seat, just have not installed it yet. I’m afraid to cut off the seat mounting brackets.

Your SRAM setup is close to mine. I’m using Force and have the 46/33 in front with 33-11 in the back. Works great for climbing and for motoring!

They are the bomb, so I hear. The bottom of the seat helps to prevent you from sliding down. The upper part of the seat brings your shoulders a bit forward, thus helping your posture to see, if you aren’t too concerned with aerodynamics. The problem is that the ribs on the bottom of the seat do not work with the seat flanges on the frame. My frame is circa 2019

Probably have to modify some in order to get the upper part of the seat stable. The clamp take the flanges out of the equation

Thor seat was a game changer for me. Totally fixed the dreaded recumbutt and the seat area has a nice contour to it. Combine that with a thicker Ventisit pad and you have one comfortable ride. I believe I have a 2021 S40 and the Thor seat only required me to drill two holes near the seat area, screwed directly into the existing frame tabs, two small holes mid way up the back to run a zip tie to attach to the frame. The zip tie is hidden and the heavy duty velcro on the frame attaches to the seat and is very secure. It does raise your shoulders up a bit but I'll sacrifice some aerodynamics for comfort.

Which Thor seat did you get?

That's the seat I got as well. I should look to see how it fits. I am suspecting that the S40 frame went through a couple of changes in between 2019 and 2021.
