S40 on gravel

I recently put some 700x38 gravel tires on my S40 (gen 4) and rode some local gravel and dirt roads. If you look at this YouTube playlist you'll see the videos. My drivetrain is a Sram Apex 1x11 with Absolute Black 38t oval chainring, and 11-50 cassette.

It's the original Sram Apex derailleur. No road link extension. It's beyond it's recommended capacity, sometimes it hesitates shifting but is good enough for me.

I rode quite a bit of gravel on my S40 with 38mm tyres while over in England a while back. Wasn't too bad as long as you sit up on the rough bits and are half sensible where you take it.
