S40 on Wahoo Kickr Snap

I have researched this question on this forum. Most answers tend toward the relative merits of a wheel-on trainer vs direct drive. What I want to know is whether or not a thru-axle S40 will work on a Wahoo Kickr Snap. Wahoo offers a thru axle adapter. Presumably, one would replace their existing bike's axle with this adapter--and then just leave it in place whether on the trainer or off. The length of the adapter is 164mm.

Anyone used a thru-axle S40 on a Wahoo Kickr Snap?

FYI

I also asked this question of the CB support folks. In the interest of making this info more accessible, here is Robert's reply.

"Wheel-on trainers typically do not work with our bikes as the axle is nearly always too short to capture the entire front end. I can’t say for sure for the newer versions however as they change these things all the time.

A direct drive trainer will most definitely work however."

I also asked what the length of the S40 axle is. Wahoo told me the length of their thru-axle adapter is 164mm. (They also directed me to Robert Axle Project in the event that theirs would not work.)

"The overall length of the insertion section is 174mm."

I'm still interested to learn if anyone has made this specific setup work.
