S40 seat pad - Alone or with a Ventisit?

I haven't attached the padded seat that comes with the S40. yet.

Wondering if anyone :

1.) Uses the padded seat with the Ventisit on top.
2.) Padded seat alone or
3.) Ventisit alone?

What is your preference?

I have found that the Ventist seat pad to be quite comfortable, and preferable. The airflow through the seat is an added bonus. I am unsure how you would use both the Cruzbike pad and the Ventist pad together.

Rack and stack the two I guess.
Would seem to be an excessive thickness.

How is the Ventisit "attached" to the carbon seat? Velcro, zip ties or tied on at the bend and back? Another method?

Another added benefit to the Ventisit pad is that it doesn't absorb sweat (or rain) and is easy to clean. Just pull it off the bike and either hose it down or take it into the shower with you. Shake it out and let it air dry. I do this two or three times a year. Wipe down the seat pan before putting the pad back on.

I should clarify that I DO use the Ventisit on my Azub Ti-Fly Trike (mess seat), the only drawback for me is when shirtless and riding for several hours, that I get a rubbing rash on a posterio-lateral rib. I believe this may be from having a fractured clavicle 40 years ago and my shoulder in slightly rotated anterior on that side of the rash and irritating one localized spot. I've placed a small towel or cloth over the area of friction and eliminated that rash irritation. I was more curious if anyone uses the Ventisit ON TOP of the standard seat pad.

Ah, I think I better understand what you are asking. I believe what you are considering is to slip the stock seat covers over top of the Ventist seat, correct? If so, I have not try that, since I always wear a jacket/shirt. Maybe others have tried this.

Not exactly, but you've given me a new idea!

I was just wondering if anyone placed the Ventisit pad ON TOP of the Stock Seat Pad. Or if riders preferred the Stock Seat Pad more than the Ventisit.

I realize there will be personal preferences and not all riders will like the Ventisit or Stock Seat Pad or Carbon Seat either. Paul M. In Columbus, Ohio was kind e-nuf to let me visit and question him about his S40 this early fall, before I decided to purchase one. He was using a "Thor" Carbon Seat from Poland. He later wrote the bye had switched back to the Cruzbike Carbon Stick seat. Just had me thinking and asking what seat accommodation preferences riders have.

The four Cruzbikes that I own, ALL have the standard Cruzbike seat cover over 3 or 4 layers of 10 mm thick, Ventist like OPEN woven mesh!
The only problem has been some scratching on the edges, as I cut all the layers, instead of wrapping the top and bottom layer.

I am not sure what the CB seat cover looks like since I bought my S40 used and it didn't have anything but the Ventisit. So I ordered the Bacchetta foam pad and then cut another small piece of foam to put under my lumbar area. It is SO comfortable. I strap it down with three Velcro straps. I may not win any beauty contests but I get to keep my teeth!

The first line of defence to shattering teeth is:-
1 Move to a town with super smooth hot mix roads!
2 Install 700*38 tyres at 50 psi, to replace the 700*23 tyres at 110 psi and air bag suspension on the previous Silvios!
3 Install the Ventist breathable pad on top of the foam, IF you ride in 38 C (100 f) days!
4 Cover the seat pad in a blue open weave seat cover, similar to the black Cruzbike covers!
