Seat Angle?

I read many posts about this, but none mention what reference they measure from.

New people won't know if there is a consensus, but no one mentions what it is.

Angle from horizontal, as is the standard for mathematics, or from vertical?

If it's the angle from vertical, is the model name actually some nominal measure of the seat angle?

Thanks.

As far as I think I understood, the model names seem to contain the seat angle from horizontal (V20 is very flat, S40 less flat and T50 much more upright.) But Q45 and T50 have adjustable angles and I don't know where to put the level, if I wanted to measure the seat angle: On the straight part of the seat pan or from front edge to top edge or something else entirely?

As far as I can tell, it is the angle from horizontal. If I measure my v20 around the middle of the seat using a digital level, it is exactly 20 degrees from horizontal. That implies the hydroform tube is 20 degrees from horizontal.

Correct. The V20's seat has a 20-degree incline from the horizontal. The S40...40-degrees incline from horizontal.
