seat cushion attachment

I've searched the forum, but have not found anything pertaining to attaching the cushion to the seat. I am using the velcro that came with the build. The adhesive heats up in the summer and turns to goo, which then ruins the whole setup thereafter as the cushion now slowly slides down and from one side to another as I ride. I have to adjust the actual velcro and the cushion about every ride. It is now a sticky mess.

Any suggestions? Different types of velcro who's adhesive backing won't turn to goo in the summer heat? I live in Columbia, SC. It get VERY hot here. (Regularly in the 90s, sometimes over 100). Different mechanism of attaching the cushion? Thanks!

Try the "Velcro" brand tape to replace the original. I'll bet the tape on your bike is not up to specs.

The adhesive is long since useless on my conversion kit. I ride with the seat held in place by my back. Sometimes I need to adjust it. I can do that while riding. I have used occasionally used tape “o” s on the seat back to stop it sliding around.

i drilled a few little holes around the pan and then used zip straps. this works fine with both the stock pad, a ventisit pad, and a single layer of ventisit over the stock pad.

you will find that once this pad is more secure to the pan, your handling improves as some vaugeness disappears (tip of the hat to @RojoRacing who told me to do this)

When the velcro has come off my seat back I have used 1/8" aluminum pop rivets to attach it permanently.
