Second Stem Cutdown

Okay, so--under the theory that if some is good, more is better,* I cut the stem down MORE! See the still at the beginning of this test-ride clip. I think it's better now. The steering physics are a bit different, but I can get used to anything, especially since that gets me lower grips and a more efficient pedal stroke, which means faster. I'll have to ride it awhile to see if there really is more power or if it's just my imagination.... Mmm-hmm.

*This is one of several theories that I eagerly subscribe to.

Nice! On the Q bikes doing a steer tube trim for a finer fit can make for much better handling for sure. Same for the S40 though there is much less steer tube exposed. V20 and V20c folks - it is what it is - no room there for any trimming. ☺️

Thanks! I was a little nervous about cutting it in the first place, and then cutting it a second time because (a) I'm not the most mechanical fella in the world, and (b) once cut, it can't be un-cut. BUT I see it's not that big of a deal, and I do like it better with a little lower hand position. The next thing I'm going to try to do is rig up a headrest, hmm....
