Doug, you did say "the one you're building", not "the one you built". Just got back from a vacation, and there will be no further progress for me until I obtain the tools necessary to install the bottom bracket.

LOL! Google Photos automatically created these panorama from 2 overlapping photos when I uploaded them - so there's two of me on two Silvio 2's!

Ivan - Looking Good!

Ivan, you look good on the Silvio. I wasn't sure how the low angle of the boom would affect the position of the handlebar, but I really like the way it looks; very aero. If you look at my avatar, you can see how much higher my handlebar is. Of course, I am riding the v1.0 configuration.

Also, I love the photo of you passing by yourself. You ought to do one where you're looking at your self and waving hello. That is, if you're comfortable riding one-handed; I don't want to be the cause of an accident. ;-)

Ivan's photos remind me of a Top Gear segment which (as I recall) showed a world where all cars are Ferrari F40s. Surreal.

Silvio 2.0 vs. Vendetta 2.0 comparison

Wasn't sure where to post this...but here are our demo/rental 2.0's.

SRAM Apex on both (Silvio has a used FSA Gossamer Compact crank though), same Cruzbike 67s wheels and Michelin Lithion 2 tires, and 11-36T cassettes with Apex Long cage rear derailleur...so I will be fun to compare them on the road.

We can build you another up similarly equipped Silvio 2.0 Apex for $3,550 and Vendetta 2.0 Apex for $4,260, both not including shipping charges. Please email for a detailed quotation if interested.

Sorry for the grainy iphone Instagram pix, but still some good info here:

Our first demo customer John, a 1mo Quest 559 rider with lower back issues, decided to take the demo Silvio home for a few days to see if it would work for him.

He is about 5'7" and 255lbs, and it took some fiddling but we were able to get him fitted comfortably. Once he was rolling he was in heaven, just a little hesitant on starts...which will get better with practice.

Thanks for the pictures Nanda.

How much does the Silvio-2.0 weigh as shown with Apex and the cruzbike wheels?

Which cassette 11-36 cassette is it?

@ AK-tux, they have basic SRAM PG 1030 cassette. All the plain jane components make demo damage less costly, and you can tell customers..."it only gets lighter" depending on what grouppo they decide to go with.

@ Romagjack, will ask John what bike rack he is using, and should hear back in a few days how his back is taking to the new geometry.

Hi Nanda...assuming your pictures of the Silvio are showing it built with the standard length stay?

How about your picture Doug?

Just trying to get a visual on what the standard bottom bracket height would look like but I guess it actually changes due to boom length. Yes? No?

Spoke count

Nanda,

I don't mean to sound harsh, but your friend would be advised to go with higher spoke counts and 3x spoke lacing to prevent spoke failure at his size. The last thing that you would want to occur is for spoke failure to occur on a 700C wheel at speed.

The rack is a Kuat (kuatracks.com). I have the same brand but a different model. The rack is very strongly built and I really like it.

I went for some straight road

I went for some straight road bars at 44 cm, then cut 7 cm off the drops. And I went the zele compact carbon crankset at 165 crank length.
