Silvio Assembly Manual

I've never been able to download the Silvio Assembly Manual pdf file. It starts initially, but then stops and never completes the download. All the other links work fine.

Though I've got my Silvio assembled and riding it, there are still questions on the front deraileur cable routing, installation, and adjustment. Was thinking the manual would answer some of the questions instead of having to post here on the forum all the time.

Has anyone else been able to download the file or is there something I'm doing or not doing?

Thanks for any info and/or help.

I'm looking for at least two

I'm looking for at least two people to claim the same error before I go looking for it. Too many red herrings otherwise!!!! :) So has anyone else confirmed it is not working?

Here's The Error, on My End:

"Adobe Reader could not open 'SilvioAssemblyManual.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."

Feel free to delete this when you've the SNAFU sorted!

I'm still having issues with

I'm still having issues with how best to route and attach the front derailuer cable.

Could/would someone(s) please post a link(s) to detailed pictures of how you have your FD cable routed (I've haven't been able to find any yet) and/or post some pictures?

Is the cable supposed to be fastened (with a plastic tie wrap) to one of the holes on the bottom bracket? Right now it is [fastened] - which my local bike shop did when he assembled that part.

If it isn't fastened, what keeps the cable from moving when shifting?

Is it possible to make adjustments to the bottom boom length, at least small ones, without affecting the FD cable?

If so, is the FD cable cut a little long to allow such adjustments?

A lot of questions, but perhaps I'm just not understanding how this all works ...

Thanks again for any help.

p.s. those 2 smiley faces

p.s. those 2 smiley faces weren't intentional - they appeared when I typed a left parentheses, an 's', right parentheses and there isn't any apparent way to edit a post once it is posted to this forum.

Thanks VERY MUCH John and

Thanks VERY MUCH John and Mick, this helps a LOT!

The drawing, in combination with the two pictures definitely clarifies the cable routing.

My LBS has the cable running between the "ears" of the BB and tie wrapped/fastend to the left (when viewed sitting on the bike) hole; then running on the right side of the stem to attach to the FD.

He also has the cable housing tie wrapped/fastened to the boom about half way between the BB and the boom clamp, before entering the "ear" on the slider tube. Is that correct?

Mick, it's a lot to ask, but could you possibly post pictures of how you've got the rest of your shifter and brake cables run?

I'm taking the Silvio in to the LBS tomorrow, about 4pm, to have this FD cable run correctly, the rest of the cables trimmed and handlebars wrapped. I'm sure the LBS could use some "They [the cables] should look something like this ..." pictures to help him. On Thursday, I'll be heading to Amarillo for the '24 Hours In The Canyon', at Palo Duro Canyon State Park, which starts on Saturday.

Thanks again to both of you, John & Mick.

Best Regards,

Ted

Silvio Assembly manual -- empty PDF file

I also have been unable to download an openable copy of the SilvioAssemblyManual. The error I get is that the PDF is empty -- the actual file size is reported as 20 bytes.

I have had no problems opening either the SilvioAssemblyNotes (1.3Mb), the SilvioTechnicalSummary (620.6Kb) or the KindShockPumpOperation (615.6Kb) files.

I've tried downloading the Silvio Assembly Manual again this morning, with the same results -- empty PDF.

MORE PHOTOS

Here are a bunch more photos, showing cable routing, which are all inside the stem clamp as they come from the bars, and more detail on the FD cabling. Note from the previous post that I fed the cable back into the FD to keep the cable away from the wheel, as I flayed a cable one time when adjusting it.
