Can anyone tell about how much I can expect to pay for a stock Cruzbike Silvio in good condition? I don't know if it is a 1.0 or 2.0. How do I tell the difference?

any help is appreciated!

Those are good questions. For the first one, you might want to search through the "For Sale" forums and see what prices people have posted for Silvios. Not to say that is what you will pay, but it will give you an idea of the historic pricing. I know you are probably looking for a solid number, but I don't have one. Maybe another member can chime on that.

Ultimately i would look at my budget in relation to what it will buy today. If you were to look at what a new S40 goes for, then your budget is some percentage of that. Cross referencing what a new S40 costs with historic Silvio sales listings, you should get an idea of what used bikes cost in relation to the a new one.

As for how to tell the different generation of Silvios apart, a web search will get you photos, videos and reviews of each example. You'll also find assembly manuals, which I have found very useful in telling the difference between versions of Cruzbikes. As an example I've attached a Silvio 1.5 manual to this post. You'll see one of the distinctive features of the Silvio 1.5 and the 1.0 are the carbon leaf spring stays and dual suspension. Hope this helps.

Silvio 1.0 - There is not a curved part to the front boom - black only - 45-50% seat angle
Silvio 1.5 - Curved part added - black only
Silvio 2.0 - Say Silvio 2.0 on the frame - in black or while - 35% (ish) seat angle

I recently bought a 1.0 for the Museum - $1500
Also recently bought the last 2.0 frame in a box - $2000
..
I would expect most used Silvio in good shape to be in that range.
- Obviously the new S40 is more $$ than that - but it is also a much nicer bike to ride - disc brakes, much wider tires - much improved boom system

Nice! Good information. Thanks, Larry. $2k is a significant discount off of a new S40. If I was shopping, depending on components, I'd say around $2700 would be where I'd start to consider if I want to buy a new S40 frameset rather than a complete gen 1.0/2.0 bike.

Of course if one's heart is set on a S1.0/1.5/2.0 then the calculus may be different.

Still saving my pennies for a S30 unicorn. Hoping for a new bike day next year. :)
