Skewers

Are they long enough? I have a Cyclops and had to make my own. It wasn’t expensive.

After a closer look, no. I thought that the lengths advertised were inner measurements. Instead, they are outer dimensions. I think I may be going down the same path of fabricating my own for the KICKR.

Thanks

I am now aware of aftermarket skewers for mag-type trainers that have the same types of ends that the stock trainer skewers have.

It is possible to just see the stock CB skewer and swap out the one end. A direct drive trainer of course works much better as the bike is supported by the fork and not just the skewer.

Thanks Robert. The 2018 KICKR is remaining in the box until the 25th, but I want to ready to use it that day. ;-)

I would rather purchase a skewer from Cruzbike than elsewhere. The alternative is take MariposaLand's path and modify an existing short skewer that I have lying round with a proper length of all-thread.

Dean,
I purchased a 2018 Kickr at the end of August. The skewer that came with it fits the Kickr and my Vendetta perfectly.
