Sram force 22 on a Vendetta

Has anyone fitted Sram force 22 to a Vendetta before?
Does the cassette clear the fork ok?
Is there clearance to fit disc brakes as well as the 11 speed cassette?

Thanks,

Hello Nigel,

Have you checked this thread?

http://cruzbike.com/has-anyone-tried-ultegra-2x11spd-6800 (Opens in new window)

Doug Burton talks about the fact that Cruzbikes work very well with 10-speed systems, but 11-speed systems offer some challenges, mostly about the unknown variables from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Good luck. SRAM's 22 groups sound really promising.

11 speed

I have shimano 6800 ultegra 11 speed on my Vendetta. I also have electronic shifting. Everything works great. I thought the electronic shifting was kind of a gimic at first but I wouldn't' be without it now. I think the issue with 11 speed has more to do with the wheel hub than the fork. You have to have a compatible wheel, there's nothing wrong with the fork. The 11 speed cassette is only about 2 millimeters wider than a 10 speed cassette and on my wheel I didn't use any spacers. I think that it's harmful for Vendetta sales to have disclaimers excluding new and popular components.

Thanks for your comments, I

Thanks for your comments, I read the original thread about the Ultegra 11 speed and was initially put off going with 11 speed.
I was then encouraged by scabinetguy's good experience with his 11 speed - do you have any pictures of your set up that you could share please? It sounds like you fitted your Ultegra 11 speed with no modifications required.

thanks

Yes, SRAM force 22 works

Yes, SRAM force 22 works fine.
I use it (with ultegra cassette and chain) on my Vendetta 2.0.

Disc brakes tho?
from what I read on this forum, it's possible but not a great idea unless/until a true 130mm disc hub comes out.
Doug did it, Robert did it - but it took some tinkering (that I would rather spend riding)!

Some pics

Here are some pics of the 11 speed setup. The nice thing about the electronic shifting is that the front derailleur always knows where the rear derailleur is and trims itself accordingly. Also the steering boom gives you a perfect place for the battery and wiring.

Thanks for the pictures, it

Thanks for the pictures, it looks like there is plenty of room for the 11 speed cassette!
