For me the rubber band or coil spring, does not strike a cord with me, as I need to turn the front end 170 degrees to fit the Silvio in the back of a i30 Hatchback.
I have gone the SteerStopper direction, so as free as bird when riding, and locked rigid when parked, or pushing around!

I bought the delrin stopper with the braze on Receiver ($79), as I have installed a M6 AL Rivet nut, in a 9 mm hole, on the top of the 100*46*1.8 7005 Frame.
The Quality of the machining and fit of the pin is unbelievably good!
With a Fastback 1L Frame pack on the Handle Bar Slider Tube the SteerStopper cannot easily be seen!
And is visible when locked down!
I need to paint the black receiver white!
