Stock Riser height?

I recently purchased a used Quest 559, and today the former owner gave me a box of spare and miscellaneous stuff that came with the bike. In the box was a riser, that I measured at 244mm (~9.6in) high. I compared this with the one on the Quest, and it is 327mm (~12.87in). Quite a bit of difference.

I wonder which one is stock? I can't find any info on the forums or the manual or online.

To me anyway, it seems the 244mm one (the "spare") is too short, but I am not sure, being new to the Quest 559.

Huh! When I got my Q45 I sold my Q559 and similarly included a bunch of stuff including two risers (I'd call these "stems"). But it was to someone else.

I don't have the Q (version 2) anymore so I can't answer for sure, but I don't think either of the ones you mention were stock. My bike came with a pretty short stem, maybe 6" total length, rising no more than 3-4 inches.

You'll have to wait for someone who still has the original stuff ... but there were several generations of Qs and they might have come with a variety of stems.

The stock riser on my Quest (V2, originally 451) is about 10" long. I bought the bike new from Cruzbike in 2014, and the riser is one of the few parts I haven't swapped out. I don't know if the Q559 would have come with a longer riser, since the Q451 was sized to fit in a suitcase for travel, or how all that worked. Looking at the assembly video of the QX100, the riser appears more like 12" to 13" long, as does the riser on the V3 Quest in the Q559 for-sale thread.

To make sure we're all on the same page--I understand "riser" to be the part that fits over the steerer tube and has the pivot clamp attached to it, and "stem" to be the part that connects the handlebar to the riser.

Lol, there certainly seems to be a variety of lengths of riser associated with the Quest V 2 and so on! And castlerobber, I am on the same page as you.

It depends on the set up of the seat. A more upright position would need a longer one and a more reclined position would probably need a shorter one.
