Suitable donor indeed...me think!

Hi guys!

Long time no see as some people say...and me too.
Well, I've only started one topic before and that was in 2009 telling you all about the
donor I got hold of and me recieving the conversion kit I ordered.
That was on this link: http://www.cruzbike.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1553

A couple of weeks later I assembled my bike and that work took me about two evenings...no big deal.
I was quite happy with the result allthough the handlebar was not perfect. Also I changed tires to
some smother ones because I bike mostly on hard surfaces like tars.

I practised in my garden a couple of evenings after work and rapidly grew confident with the
handling of the bike...lot of workout for the whole body I must say but a lot fun! :D
I followed this up by going out for some longer trips on the roads nearby, mostly on the country side.
The longest ride so far I made is so far about 25km...yipee! :)
We had a lovely summer in 2009 so I was on the road quite a lot.

Then winter came and we got more snow than we have seen for the past 25years. Also the spring
this year is late and chillier so my bike premier had to wait.

Anyhow, today I found a much more suitable handlebar and this evening I put it in place.
It improved handling and balance quite a lot and I will soon be on the roads with this new setup.
Of course I will start with some trial runs in the garden and the local roads before I go out on the
bigger roads. Also maybe some tweaking of seat position and handlebar position is needed? :ugeek:

And last but not least...here are some picture for you to see the final result (taken this evening with the new handlebar in place)...please enjoy. :)

Best Regards!
Mikael

Hi Mark,

I'm happy that you like the looks of the bike. :)

Today we have wonderful weather here in southern part of Sweden so I hit the road
and went for a 38km trip today on the bike. :D

I?l write more about it in the correct forum.

Cheers Mikael

Me thinks its's a very suitable donor too. That looks like a great conversion, Super, Now where can the rest of us get a frame like that at a reasonable price? I'm jealous.
These days, however, I'm tending towards my motorized cruzbike version which really only requires on gear ratio because of the type engine and all.
