Swap to 26" MTB Wheels on Q45?

I have a very solid 26" MTB with nice rims and decent MTB tires. The disc rotors are identical as well. Any reason I couldn't or shouldn't do that swap for rides that require mud/gravel tires with more clearance?

The hubs would have to match - if they are 12mm through axle and the same width - 100 rear and 142 front.

in case your Q45 has fenders: there should be enough clearance (as well towards the fork and the other parts of the frame).

I’m running 26” wheels (46 mm) with fenders on my Q. I believe @Black Hawk Down runs 26 wheels with 2 inch tires and fenders. So it will probably come down to the hubs.
Correct. I'm thinking about going smaller. My feet barely touch the ground. I often fall onto my side when starting on a hill. I have two bad shoulders because off it.
