swapping wheels

Hi,
quick question, how do you fit a front hub, 100mm width, in the rear 135 spaced dropouts? Can you insert some spacers, or do you have to build a new wheel using a 135 rear hub? thanks in advance.

In theory, you could space it out, but then your axles would be too short. I suppose you could use longer axles and then space accordingly.

You need a 3/8 axle that is capable of spanning the 135 rear spacing and it needs to be fitted with low profiles cones so that the front wheel hub can be mounted on it. That is to say, if you had a conversion kit you would be able to use the axle that is included for exactly this purpose. :)

This is exactly what I did. turns out that the spacers that came with the conversion kit were not long enough. I found 2 galvanized plumber's nipples at the hardware store that were exactly the 3/4" spacing required on each side. The inside needed a slight drilling out to slip over the 3/8th inch axle, though. Hey if you like hacksawing then cut these spacers out of a piece of galvanized plumber's pipe.

I need to go get a life. LOL
