Sweaty Seats

Sweaty seat complaints.

Looks like Cruzbikes could offer an aftermarket product like the "vestisit" seatcover. Is it just me who thinks Vestivisit is a little too proud of their hank of material? LOL I'll bet Crusbike could beat that price considerably.
For the do-it-your-self type I think I have a solution. Read over the web and all the hype about this special secret material that vestisit and others are selling is no more the the 6 to 3 millimeter nylon mesh found in military flack jacket and up- scale life vests. If you agree with me then you can order a yard of the 3 mm mesh from from the following site at 15 bucks plus 11 or so shipping. thats enough to make at least 3 covers. find something to use as a draw string and you're almost there.

Or you can just get what ever I've got leftover from that I just ordered at my cost.

That stuff may help, but I think you were comparing it to Ventisit which is 2 or 3 cm or 20 or 30 mm which is a lot thicker than the stuff you are referring to. Look at this site: http://www.ventisit.com/. I would think that the 3 mm stuff would flatten out and not do much good IMHO. Good luck. Keith

I'm a heavy sweater and haven't had any real issues with the Cruzbike seat cushions. The way the seat is contoured, I'm not sure you really need cushions!

I took the seat cushions off my cruzbike and have not had any additional pains. With or without the seats the hard-tailed mongoose would rattle your spine if you hit a light reflector the highway people put embed on the road.

HI guys;
My conversion package came in so I got my first look as the actual seat. The cushion appears to have a loose (though not open) weave of nylon. Looks loose and good to me and if Mark is as sweaty as he looks then what's the big problem here? The original complaint was from RoboLion and he hasn't posted since. I hope he did not get too sweaty and slide off his seat into the bushes or something. Let us hear from your , Robolion?

looks like I just wasted 25 bucks on some fishnet material. Maybe I can talk some of the guys around here into waring it as fish net underwear for extra cool rides.

Keith, a word of warning, if you try to sell your 30 mm netting for underwear it would be a disaster. If 6 mm is about 1/4 inch then the netting as Ventisit looks to be about 6mm which is the other size offered at that site I published. Please don't post any pictures with your new underwear material. LOL
Maybe its time to drop all this and change the subject. LOL

Bob

My Ventisit seat is made up of a large sheet of 5? mm thick 3D net material. It is wrapped around smaller sheets of the same material and then stringed together. Mine is 3 cm thick and i love it. The 2 cm version probably is made the same way, just with less smaller sheets inside the larger outer sheet.

I have nearly 11000 cruzin miles and have ridden in some pretty hot, albeit dry heat weather. I can honestly say I've had no issues with the Cruzbike pad. My commuter bike has some visible sweat stains,but it doesn't stink, or anything. Unlike my helmet, Good Lord! :shock:

I could not figure out where the stink came from until I put the old sniffer near my helmet. I took out the pads, rinsed it out and started wearing a "solar" hat with a bill sticking out. I now not longer have a smell and my nose no longer gets burned. I liked it so much I took out the velcro dots that held the sweat band in and let the hat perform like it was designed to do. Hope no one else has had to face the stinky helmet disease ...... :D
