Teaching my son to ride - Now he can reach the pedals

My firstborn son has grown tall enough to reach the pedals on my recumbent, and I decided it's time to teach him how to ride. Here is how it went:

Yeah. My son picked up my recumbent when he was 14 as just rode off. I thrashed around for aweek. Next thing is you'll need is another bike.......

He got the balance within 30 minutes. However , it's becuase I insisted on following a method. It looks like if I had just let him, he would have been off and ridng in 15 minutes!

Anyway, once he was pedalling freely he said ".. Dad, it's just like the other (normal) bicycle .."

Back in 2012 when I was learning the MBB , it took me several attempts. It semed like hours of practice to get cornering right.

ditto my son. jumped on rode off. conversation over. came back said. hmm. pretty fast.

tried a trike. started doing wheel tricks. lean overs, nose stands. said hmm pretty stable. ever fall asleep in it?
