Temporary set back

I've had a couple of 10 minute sessions on my spanking new (two day old) Avalon Conversion. As of this moment I'm not proficient without the ever ready "feet on the ground" precautionary maneuvers yet.

On yet another note Just today i was lifting my bike on to the back end of my Van. Now please listen to my description of what happened next;
I actually heard a pop along with an excruciating triple strength Charley horse type pain in the upper left part of my calf muscle. I don't know how I kept from falling but I quickly found some relief by getting off the foot and changing my foot position.

Yes for sure I'll be calling my nurse-doctor to be cautious. But, I'm hoping some of the more athletic types here could give me an opinion of what you think happened. Although a fraction better 8 hours later I'm still limping all over the house and I can feel the sharpest of the pain mostly when I stand or put pressure on the ball of my foot and the pain is exactly on the same upper left spot calf muscle. It's plain weird about hearing that pop sound. I've never heard of anything like that before. Could I have torn a ligament?

Regards

Bob
P. S. I'm 65 years old maybe that's the problem. No wise cracks please.

hobble to the DRs to get checked out.

Many years ago I broke an ankle getting up out of a chair. The ligament that wraps around the outside edge of the ankle somehow snapped off a little chip of a bone. My foot swelled, I did not take off my shoe until I was at the doctor's office, and they took pictures of it. The orthopedic surgeon when he looked at the image touched the area and I went off the chair and was found hanging onto the drop ceiling letting him know that he found the spot. He could not explain it, other than to put me in a walking cast and sent me out the door with a follow-up visit within a week or two.

Bob, Go to the doctors.... and yes we are getting a little older and we don't heal as quickly as we did years ago. The time hobbling around will give to time to do other things such as "take out the trash." In true loving spirit, get well soon.

Hi Bob,

Sorry to hear of your setback - go to the doctor and heal quickly.

The bike looks dynamite - I really like it. That frame is a real sleeper. When you get your seat all squared-away I think you'll really like that bike.

Best

Doug
