The most powerful recumbent WTRL TTT assemblage evaaah!

The week started grim as a number of High-Speed racers were unable to race in this week's upcoming WTRL Team Time Trial. Those following High Speed know they have been on a roll the lasts few weeks and this was sure to be a momentum killer. Well, not so fast! In comes Cruzbikes “B Boys” like the Calvary to the rescue. Even the injured Larry Oz come storming in to keep High Speed high speeding across the WRTL landscape.

This is the plan. Our “B boys” will form a cabal and fill the empty slots. The exact makeup is still being resolved but it will look something like three racers on the track and a Directeur Sportif in the team car. It would make sense for Larry who is recovering from shoulder surgery to be placed in the team car but Larry isn’t known for using common sense when it comes to bike racing. Benphyr is another whose enthusiasm is appreciated but sanity is questioned. He will be racing in an earlier time zone on his Platinum ATP team and is another obvious candidate for a team car seat. They’ll get it all sorted this week but when all said and done this will be the strongest WTRL TTT recumbent team ever assembled. High Speed roster will include Ken, Robert H, Jim, Joel, and Jay. They will race in the Latte Division. This is not a permanent move. The plan is for the B boys take this opportunity to show High Speed the tricks and trades of the higher Divisions and then return back to their parent teams leaving High Speed fitter, faster and smarter than before. That grim week for High Speed isn’t looking grim any more. Thanks B Boys and Good luck High Speed!

Not only do we have the strongest team yet we have filled up both High Speed and Low Drags rosters for the first time. Now keeping the racers until race day becomes the challenge.

The recon went very well last night. ATP, High Speed, Low Drag, and the Flamingos were represented. If you missed it you have some homework to do. Looks like everyone is going to try a few new tricks learned from last night. Contact your Captains for the details.

So High Speed, Low Drag, Flamingos, and MargaRitas quietly wait at the gate for Thursdays TTT. Its a bit celebratory in that for the first time both High Speed and Low Drag will blast out off the start with full rosters of eight. High Speed will be entering the higher Latte Division being led by Cruzbikes B boys. Some of Cruzbikes fastest virtual riders came home this week to show our racers the ropes. My, how far these virtual TTT racing workouts have come. Its no longer grit , brawn, and go. The Team Time Trial workouts have evolved into a true teamwork affair loaded with tactics and techniques to make your group the fastest they can be. This week will see all our teams attempting some of the more advanced maneuvers. It's sure to be a mess.

High Speed: Capt. Ray (team Car), Joel, Chris, Rob H, Ken, Ben (Team Rouster), Cliff, Jay, Jim.

Low Drag: Capt. Roy, Greg, Bob T, Josh, Hardy, David, Matt, Rob L, Larry (DS Team Car)

Recumbent Women mixed DF/Rec teams MargaRitas: Maria. Flamingos: Elizabeth, Connie

Just how far has this new form of cycling come? A long, long way. Back when we started these crazy TTT workouts we thought having a hundred teams and a couple of hundred riders were a lot. Today the WTRL is running TTT's on two days, 10 zones with over two thousand teams. They are dealing with over ten thousand racers in what is truly a worldwide event.

A great night with some great friends. The boys and girls laid the wattage out there tonight. The Richmond course is tough, then you had to go do it again! We did and we'll pay a price tomorrow. More tomorrow, including the Roll Call for next weeks Flat Tempus Fuget flat, flat, course. It was an honor to ride with you guys tonight.

That Richmond course just about did me in. The upped average for the A pen race about had me at the breaking point - but good times still! FTP increase as a result... (not sure that's a good thing?) haha
