thicker ventisit pad

Does anyone have experience using the thicker ventisit pad after using the normal one?
Before I bought the ventisit pad I was having issues with pressure pain in my left hip joint, which the ventisit happly cured.
Now it seems maybe the pad has broken in a bit and compressed some because somewhere about 60 miles in to my 100 mile ride today the same thing happened.
I'm wondering if the thicker pad might keep enough thickness after compressing to solve the issue long term. It is quite detracting from a good long ride.

Thicker Ventisit adds more suspension. But it's surface area is bit smaller as it has more rounded edges due to one aditional layer inside.

I only use it in the summer as it helps with the ventilation. Riding a DF might be 30% harder to go the same speed but it's sure nice to have all that rushing air around you. Having the ventisit delux on the Vendetta allows you to persepire effectively. The fabric is abrasive so it's good to wear a bib underneath a jersey or wear a skinsuit. I find that I am faster without the ventisit delux.

I'm using the deluxe at the moment, but it's an unusually hot summer here so far and I'm still leaking like a garden hose.

A 2 hour ride last week saw me consume over 2l of water and electrolytes. I normally work on half that in the winter adn maybe 750ml/hr in summer normally

Tell me about it. I have to get up at 7 for a ride otherwise I cook. It's interesting what dehydration does to the power numbers. Just keep adjusting the bike and maximising it's aero capability. That includes the shape of the engine. Lately I find it pays to suffer. And that's the thing .... pain becomes pleasure. Must be a Zen thing.
