Things to can do on a TT bike that you can't do on a Cruzbike

Other than Why...
Is that a video with you piloting?
Do you have a picture of the bike? Before and after?
Were the pauses and skips where flats were repaired, broken/taco'd wheels replaced, or air ambulance attendance?

1. to preserve my sanity I have to test my sanity
2. If you have to ask this you obviously don't know me that well.

4. pauses were mostly to keep the video to less than 2 hours because unlike others on who I wont name(@LarryOz ) I like to cater to those of us with short attention spans. I did use my $300 alloy gravel wheels and 35mm tires and I didn't suffer a single flat tire. I did however sacrifice one vector pedal pod to the trail gods. No injuries on my end although seeing this will probably worry the Parker's(they need a health racer) as much as my mother who hates seeing me do stuff like this :lol

Good luck doing this climb or descent on your fat tired S40.

Rojo you are an insane lunatic. That’s a compliment. But your trek frame was sweating lol.

How was the mint trek frame after that effort.

You need to get back on the mtb pronto.

My mate just purchased an e bike 2018 speci comp. what a hoot. Makes you think.

About motorcycles in the dirt. Then mum will really worry no doubt seeing you on that arc to track/road racing before.

You were lucky. I ride a 'bent because that sort of thing is less likely.

You fell off into a plant. Face-plant. Did it have thorns? I know there are some serious thorns in that part of the world.

You say you edited it down from two hours. Two hours on that track on that Trek! No wonder your mike caught you swearing. Mad one indeed!

Hi Jason, I'm impressed with how smooth the video is. Special effects or some sort of gibal?

Pure skill, line chose and a solid mounting setup. I think the Hero5 session has slight stabilization built it but it's slight. In the video you can only make out less than half of the rocks I have to dodge due to youtube video compression. It looks quite a bit better on my PC in RAW quality.

Keep it raw. If you are processing it, compress it at the end of the process, or as near the end as possible. This applies to noises as well as images. I hate these cameras that process the image automatically and you can't disable it. My camera, I will use it how I like. I know if it is too dark or too light. If I take a rubbish picture, so be it.

Actually, I use film. My cameras have no auto-anything.

Cheater! That's basically a cyclocross bike you were riding :) I've also been riding on 35mm tires on local XC courses - something I would not dream doing on a road bike even with 28mm tires... but a mountain trail is something special indeed. I hope you had some nice bar padding :).

And yea, any bent short of full fat-tire bent and/or LWB like Kodiak will be massively inferior to any 'upright' bike. When conditions are loose and there is limited traction, you MUST keep you balance by skilful 'body english' or go down instantly.

I use the extra fatty ESI foam grips often found on Mtb's. ESI makes special 8.5" length models for use on road bikes on the drops. I also use ESI silicone bar tape for the hoods because it's twice as cushiony.
