tire recommendation - 451 rim

What tires have people had good experience with on the Quest 451?

Both of the Kenda west 1 1/8" tires that came on my bike have suffered a patch where the rubber tread began to separate from the fabric and the tire began to herniate (an outward swelling in that area of the tire).

I'm hoping to find a good high pressure tire - possibly (preferably?) wider than the original 1 1/8".
